What is cellulite?

I tell my patients that cellulite is so common – as many as 80% of adult females past puberty display some degree of cellulite. What is cellulite? Well, it’s basically due to fat under the skin poking out of its fibrous connective tissue ‘pockets,’ much like stuffing can poke out of a pillow. It’s made worse by skin thinning which affects the dermis. Skin thinning that is a feature of ageing and in women, hormonal changes. Cellulite secrets, men don’t get it. Its because their ‘fat pockets’ are more fibrous and hold fat more tightly. It is not due to obesity and it is not due to collections of toxins or fluid, it’s normal fat under the skin!

Nonetheless women hate it. They want to maintain a toned bottom and smooth sculpted thighs. Its on every woman’s wish list, and here to help are tips that celebrities received on how to get rid of cellulite. At Castleknock Cosmetic Clinic Dublin we share with you how to get firm and toned. I see famous celebs, as skinny as Kate Moss can still get cellulite. Cellulite is not a fat problem. It’s a superficial skin layer problem, you can have total VASER lipo and get rid of every bit of regular fat and still have cellulite. You can exercise with kettle-bells till the cows come home, it isn’t going to help.

Nutrition

Nutritionists will argue that foods rich in nutrients like lecithin, essential fatty acids, amino acids and antioxidants will help reduce cellular inflammation, squeeze out excess fluids, and somehow, increase circulation which prevents cells from migrating to the surface and looking like cottage cheese. Naaah!!

Cellulite secrets and remedies

The key to beating cellulite is to strengthen the skin through the medical devices and maintain skin health with proper skincare.. Devices like the ultrasound cavitation and multipolar radiofrequency. These devices will help disrupt the superficial fat layer and at the same time strengthen and firm the collagen in the skin. Voila, cellulite secrets are out, smooth tight skin is only a few sessions away. Once smooth skin is achieved, then skincare with retinol and ReFirm creams will help. So do dietary intake of lecithin, antioxidants and essential acids will help maintain the results. So how do celebs maintain their cellulite?

Kate Moss takes her antioxidants in the form of white tea. She combines this with lecithin from eggs, and soy, and gains some essential fatty acids from nuts and seeds. Jennifer Lopez loves spinach (lecithin), and claims to eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner when she needs to get her legs in shape. J Lo also loves flax seeds, citrus fruits, iceberg lettuce and olive oil, all essential to give her the full range of nutrients needed to combat cellulite.

Claudia

Claudia Schiffer drinks in her lecithin from tomato juice and gets her antioxidants from green and herbal teas. Claudia eats lots of citrus fruit and makes sure to eat enough essential fatty acids by dining on avocados and salmon.

Cameron

Cameron Diaz whips up a homemade vegetable soup. Adding pulses to her diet is a winner for her and she also drinks a lot of green tea.

Jennifer

Jennifer Aniston makes a point of eating lots and lots of essential fatty acids in the form of nuts, seeds, canola oil and fresh tuna. She eats cauliflower and eggs for lecithin.
