VASER Recovery Sequence
VASER liposuction, also known as ultrasonic liposuction, is a type of liposuction that uses high-frequency sound waves to break up and remove excess fat from the body. The recovery time after VASER liposuction can vary from person to person, but most people are able to return to their normal activities within a few days. However, all patients undergo a recovery journey that takes a few months.
During the first 24 to 48 hours after the procedure, you may experience swelling, bruising, and soreness. I usually prescribe pain medication to help manage any discomfort. It is important to keep the treated area elevated to help reduce swelling.
Recovery Aftercare
It is important to keep the treated area clean and dry, and to avoid taking hot baths or using saunas. It is normal to experience some swelling and bruising for several weeks after the procedure, but these side effects should gradually subside over time.
Most people are able to return to work within a few days of the procedure. However, it is important to avoid strenuous activities, such as heavy lifting or exercise, for at least a week or two. Specialised Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massages MLD are strongly advised as they promote faster healing and better outcome.
VASER Recovery
It can take several months to see the final results of any liposuction procedure.
The amount of time it takes to see the final results of liposuction can vary depending on several factors, including:
- The amount of fat removed: The more fat that is removed during the procedure, the longer it may take to see the final results.
- The area treated: Some areas of the body, such as the thighs and bra rolls, may take longer to heal and show the final results of liposuction.
- The patient’s age: Older patients may take longer to heal and see the final results of liposuction.
- The patient’s overall health: Patients who are in good physical health generally heal faster and see the final results of liposuction sooner.
It is important to be patient and follow your post-operative instructions to ensure proper healing. If you have any concerns about your recovery or the final results of your liposuction procedure, it is important to speak with your surgeon. They will be able to provide specific guidance and advice.
