VASER Liposuction of the abdomen
Unwanted accumulations of fat can make clothes difficult to fit. With unwanted fat hanging around the stomach area, it may be impossible to buy clothes “off the rack”. Abdominal liposuction to the front part of the tummy and to the waist is often helpful in these situations. Ageing brings on a general redistribution of body fat, especially around the middle. For women, childbirth can leave behind a roll of stubborn and unsightly belly fat. And, of course, genetics count for a lot, too.
Often liposuction of the abdomen can be combined with treatment of the love handles and muffin tops and the size of the whole waistline is reduced, creating a cinched waist, diminishing that square, plump look and giving the whole central section hour-glass curves. The procedure is meant to shape the abdomen and is also very suitable to remove stubborn fats that are hard to remove through diet and exercise.
When it comes to liposuction, not all fat is created equal. Fat that is resistant to diet and exercise usually lies beneath the skin and on top of the abdominal muscle wall. Great abdominal liposuction results are seen in patients that have a reasonably good muscle tone and firm elastic skin. If you have a good skin and a good amount of muscle in the abdomen, you will get better results.
Abdominal Liposuction and Loose Skin
People worry about loose skin after liposuction. The degree of skin retraction is determined by the pre-operative quality of the skin. Are there stretch marks, cellulite, or an overhanging-fold? Skin tightening is helped greatly with VASER liposuction (see last photo) compared to traditional or non-energy-based removal. The ultrasound energy transmitted by the VASER platform promote profound skin retraction forgoing the need for a tummy tuck and abdominoplasty scars.

The abdomen is a problem area for many women, particularly after childbirth and responds very well to liposuction.
Why VASER Lipo
Stomach liposuction with VASER is a lot less invasive than traditional liposuction. Fat removal of the abdomen by VASER liposuction is associated with minimal disruption to a busy schedule. The VASER Lipo procedure remove unwanted fat via tumescent local anaesthetic numbing, which is far less invasive than the old-fashioned liposuction procedures. Whether a lot or a little need to be removed, a dramatic aesthetic improvement can be achieved and return to normal daily activity within days.
The abdominal liposuction is performed under local anaesthesia using a wetting tumescent solution. “Tumescent” solution is a mix of local anaesthesia in buffered normal saline salt water. Its injected into fatty tissue areas under the skin. Our surgeon then targets the hydrated fat with the VASER ultrasonic energy which emulsifies hard fat into smoothie like consistency. This makes it ready for gentle removal with a straw like tube called a cannula which is attached to negative pressure suction canister. The doctor moves the cannula back and forth in gentle and calculated motion to uniformly suction out the fat. The procedure takes a couple of hours.

Popular Procedure
If you are unhappy about fat deposits around your stomach that will not surrender to diet or exercise, you have plenty of company. Liposuction is now the most popular form of cosmetic surgery in the 25-50-year olds. While there is no magic wand to make jiggly belly fat go away, liposuction may offer a solution for love handles and other unwanted forms of flab.
During your consultation with Dr Kahlout, he will explain in detail the VASER procedure. He will also determine if you are the right candidate for liposuction, which includes a medical assessment, amount of surplus fat, and evaluation of skin firmness and elasticity. Fat removed will not comeback, unless you gain weight. By eating right and staying active, you will be able to keep the fat off and enjoy your results for years to come.

Results & Recovery
With VASER Lipo, we can produce significant results in just one session, without the pain and long downtime of typical liposuction treatments. Most patients report superior results in one session, and faster recovery than traditional liposuction.
After the procedure, the area is bandaged, and patients wear a compression garment for two to four weeks. In the recovery period mild discomfort and bruising may last up to two weeks and swelling may last for two weeks to four weeks.
We highly recommend working with a lymphatic massage therapist to help ensure the best possible outcome after surgery. This post-operative massage is valuable to maximise your results and will start on day three post op.
Patients are advised to mobilise early and return to normal daily activity within a couple of days. In general the full effect of liposuction gets better over-time and is seen four months after the procedure is performed.

SKINCARE
Skincare corrects and also maintains optimal skin health. Post liposuction we recommend specific topical treatment creams to further enhance uneventful recovery and tighter skin results. Aftercare skin regime is important for those who already loose skin or stretch marks before undergoing liposuction. It is also relevant when large amount of fat is removed from the abdomen.
Regular application of skincare in the immediate post-op period allows for smoother transition to better results. ReFirm contains a unique combination of essential oils and repairing active peptides. Made with high quality natural plant-based ingredients. When combined with Recover Cream they have synergistic effect firming and healing treated area. Recover contains o.5% retinol and other nutrients to help balance the skin.
