Fuller Cheeks with Fillers
If you’re self-conscious about having low or barely visible cheekbones, you may be considering cheek fillers, also called dermal fillers.
Plump, rounded cheeks portray a youthful look, while sagging cheeks often indicate aging, and sunken cheeks are frequently associated with ill health. A fuller face with “rosy apple cheeks” is in fashion, and if you want chubby cheeks, you have a number options with us at Castleknock Cosmetic Clinic, Dublin. These cosmetic procedures are designed to lift your cheekbones, add volume to your face, and smooth fine lines and wrinkles.
For example, you could undergo a cosmetic procedure, such as fat transfer surgery, or receive an injection of a dermal filler.
Cheek fillers are injections that raise the volume of the area above and around your cheekbones. This provides the illusion of a more defined bone structure. By injecting volume in the deep skin layer, cheek fillers can plumb and smooth out wrinkles and fine lines.
Types of fillers
At Castleknock Cosmetic Clinic Dublin there are several types of filler material options to consider for cheek augmentation.
Hyaluronic acid, Radiesse are the main types of dermal fillers we use in the cheek bone area. These types of dermal fillers are temporary. Longer lasting filler are Ellanse and Sculptra.
Depending on the type we decide with you on, HA cheek fillers can last anywhere from 6 months to a year. Dermal filler material eventually dissolves and metabolizes into your skin tissue. They are fully reversible if you did not like the results.
Popular longer lasting fillers like Radiesse last over a year while Sculptra and Ellanse last much longer, up to five years.
After a consultation with our experienced cosmetic surgeon, where you discuss your desired results, the amount to be used and cost the injection treatment can take place.
During the treatment, you’ll recline in a clean sterilised clinical environment. The injection process is a mixture of art and sound knowledge of facial anatomy. In his skillful hands it should be only take 30 minutes or so.
After the injection, you’ll see results immediately. However, it takes a day or two for the filler to settle into its position on your face.
During the first few days after an injection there maybe some swelling and occasional bruising. Try to sleep facing up or flat on your back. You should avoid sleeping on your cheeks. It is beneficial to avoid strenuous exercise until the filler has completely taken its shape, a couple of days after the injection procedure is ideal. Avoid touching your face and keep your face clean and dry as much as possible until the risk of infection has passed.
The cost of your cheek fillers will depend on what type of dermal fillers you and our doctor decide on, as well as how much of that material is needed.

Filler options that last longer, like Radiesse, Sculptra or Ellanse start from €650 per ml
